Hey folks, I'm pretty new to surfing so I'm hoping you can help me out.

I've only been surfing once before and I fell in love with it. I just got a great job that is web-based so I can work from wherever I want. I'm planning to go somewhere warm and oceany this summer, and I want to learn to surf while I'm there. The trick is, it's not a vacation - I'll still need to work which means reliable web access.

I'm looking for a place that:

Is relatively low cost-of-living
Good internet access
Good beginner-level surf in July - August

It also needs to be in the western hemisphere (no further west than Hawaii and no further East than Africa) so that the time zone syncs up with the rest of the people I'm working with.
